How to care for your kantha clothing

Follow these simple steps to increase the lifespan of your kantha pieces

  • Only wash when necessary. Hand wash only.

  • Avoid soaking. Wash alone or with like colors to prevent dye bleeding.

  • Do not tumble dry, do not wring. Hang dry only.

  • Loose strings are normal, do not pull at threads. Tie knots just big enough to keep from pulling through to prevent further fraying and then trim.

  • Dance, flow, move. Don’t be afraid to live in your clothes.

Kantha is very delicate. to ensure that your pieces last, take good care of them and handle with love.

While Kantha is delicate, this doesn’t mean you should be afraid of wearing your pieces. Just be mindful of how you care for them. Know that over time, you will see wear and tear. Thats’ okay! These pieces are meant to be lived in. Use these tips to care for them while they’re off your body.

There are hundreds of running threads on these pieces, it is normal that some will come loose. If you spot a loose thread, tie it into a knot with the piece it ripped apart from. If it’s a lone loose thread, make a few knots on the end to keep it from pulling through further, then trim the tail end. Loose threads should not affect the garment as a whole.

Most importantly: dance, flow, move. Don’t be afraid to live in your clothes. Fronk was intentionally made for movement. Find your flow.
